A message from the Rose family...

Hello everyone,

Our family is excited to announce that our attorney Steven Gruel has submitted the formal commutation request to Governor Schwarzenegger on Brendon's behalf as of Thursday, February 28th, 2008.  The request is very detailed with several legal, medical and personal documents.   It also includes 2,400 petition signatures from supporters all over the country, acquired since the date of Brendon's incarceration.  As a result of the hard work and efforts by Robert Duvall and James Caan, Brendon's case was introduced to Governor Schwarzenegger in late 2007, which has brought us to this next phase.

We would like to graciously ask for a collective positive thought or prayer; we are firm believers in the power of the masses. Now is the time to reach into our hearts, come together and make the granting of this commutation a reality.  It's a small task of very few words - words from your heart.  This commutation is very important and is our best shot at bringing Brendon home.  This is our family's prayer:

"It is our desire and intention that Governor Schwarzenegger be given the wisdom and compassion to see who Brendon Rose really is;  to review all that is presented before him;  and to reach deep into his heart and forgive, by granting this commutation and allowing Brendon his freedom to be home with his family again."

Our family has been blessed by all of your messages, donations, phone calls, emails, letters, hugs and prayers throughout the last 4+ years.   We owe a tremendous debt of gratitude to those very special friends and strangers, who have donated their time and efforts to assist in obtaining our son's freedom.  Let's all come together from all over this country to generate the power of forgiveness, compassion and freedom.

        With our sincere appreciation,

            The Rose Family

Diane Rose, Robert Duvall on O'Reilly Factor

O'Reilly, Duvall, and Diane Rose.

Diane Rose, Brendon's mother, appeared with Robert Duvall on The O'Reilly Factor TV show on Tuesday, July 31st. The O'Reilly show is carried on the Fox News Channel ("FNC").

The broadcast of this segment generated tremendous interest in Brendon's story. Within 3 hours, 322 emails were received by the SaveOurRose.com website following the broadcasts at 5 PM and a re-broadcast at 8PM PDT. These emails included people requesting to have their names added to a petition for Brendon's fight for justice; SaveOurRose eNewsletter signups; messages to Brendon expressing hope, strength and prayers; and cc'd emails of messages sent to our California Governor. Most of these emails were sent by people who do not know Brendon but just happened to be watching the O'Reilly Factor on Tuesday evening, and Brendon's story caught their interest enough to look further into this travesty of justice.

So far, this is just what we had hoped for in this O'Reilly segment: to bring awareness to the People of just how unfair our justice system in this country can be, and especially in Brendon's case.

This SaveOurRose website has had over 3,200 new visitors since the broadcast. This is amazing.

The end result of the segment has Bill O'Reilly telling Robert Duvall that he will setup a meeting for Mr. Duvall and James Caan (also involved in this fight for justice) to meet with Arnold Schwarzenegger to discuss Brendon's situation of injustice. We will be eagerly awaiting a follow-through to that offer by Mr. O'Reilly. NOTE: Bill O'Reilly mistakenly explained that the incident involving Brendon, his twin brother, Adam, and others took place in a bar fight. In fact, the incident occured at a spring break party.

Thanks to all who sent in emails, messages, etc. Brendon, his family and friends are forever grateful for your support.

If you watched the segment, please feel free to offer your comments to Mr. O'Reilly at oreilly@foxnews.com

If you missed the show or would like to view it again, you can find it here on FoxNews.com:   video   or   transcript
(Note: There is a 20-second commercial before the video.)

Also, feel free to send a brief email to the Governor of California, quick and easy. You can view a sample message to send to the governor here...

  OTHER   NEWS

To most everyone's astonishment, Judge Gilbert Brown on Friday (06/02/06), denied Brendon's request for a trial by jury. Although this is a hard hit after all this time, Brendon and his family remain optimistic, and are not giving up in the least.

Thanks for everyone's support, and a big thanks to those who attended the recent court proceedings. Please keep up the hope, and please continue your letters and messages to Brendon.

Want to help out?

Writing, calling and meeting with your federal and state representatives and senators about your opposition to mandatory sentencing laws, are all very important. Congress and state legislatures have the ability to repeal mandatory sentencing laws immediately, but they won't do it until enough people voice their disapproval of the laws...
Help out now!

Thank you! from the Roses

The Rose family would like to thank all those who sent letters and emails of support, as well as letters, emails and faxes to our government officials. Please continue to pass the word (SaveOurRose.com) on to your relatives, friends, and neighbors.

Brendon Rose - Now 25, wrongfully sentenced to 8 years in State Prison at 19.
Injustice:

After being ill-advised to plead "No Contest" by his attorney, Brendon Rose was found guilty to charges of "assault in which great bodily harm occurs". For coming to the aid and defense of his twin brother, whom he feared was in danger, this fine young man with no criminal record received an 8-year sentence. This was Brendon's first offense.
